Credit Union Car Loan Application

Project overview: Build an auto loan application interface for a Credit Union's new mobile application.

The Challenge or Problem Statement

I have been tasked with developing the online auto loan application interface for the Credit Union's upcoming mobile application. The Credit Union has expressed a preference for a design that draws inspiration from the existing auto loan application form, while adhering to Google's Material Design system, to ensure a cohesive and user-friendly experience within the new mobile application.

Empathize and Define

After conducting a comprehensive review of the application and adopting a user-centric perspective, I observed that the application's complexity and the use of confusing language presented significant barriers to user comprehension.

In order to address these issues, I have taken the initiative to identify sections that appear superfluous and have highlighted areas where information redundancy could be streamlined by consolidating multiple inputs into a single input box. This strategic approach aims to reduce both the visual and cognitive load, ultimately enhancing the user experience.

My Solution

Following a meaningful engagement with my users, I have devised several solutions aimed at crafting an application that prioritizes user-friendliness.
 
The key modifications made include:
  1. Eliminating extraneous input fields and sections to simplify the user journey.
  2. Reducing cognitive burden through the incorporation of an accordion-style drop-down menu.
  3. Enhancing user awareness by introducing a progress bar, enabling them to track their application's completion status.
  4. Incorporating a plus button, granting users the ability to append additional input fields for repetitive information.
  5. Enabling users to access and modify their applications through the implementation of a review screen.
